Youth Development Fund - 155100

Through fundraising and community support, we provide assistance to low-income families. It is the commitment of the City of Arcata Recreation Division to make our programs available to all the youth of the community. This fund relies solely on grants, fundraisers, and donations to provide this invaluable service to our community.

Recreation programs provide a safe place for many youth during vulnerable summer, after-school, weekend and evening hours and provide a stable environment for youth to find the guidance they need to successfully handle their life circumstances.

If you would like to make a donation to the Youth Development Scholarship Fund, select any of the options below and add it to your cart. All donations are tax deductible. Federal Tax ID# 94-2186507

Carbon Offsets - 15550

Carbon credits are certificates that represent a reduction of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Projects that prevent the generation of greenhouse gases earn these credits, which can in turn then be sold to other businesses and individuals to voluntarily offset the emissions they generate. One carbon credit is equivalent to a saving of one metric tonne of carbon dioxide (co2). Carbon credits can be purchased at a rate of $10/ metric tonne.

The City of Arcata is trying to show how sustainable forest management can be part of the solution to dealing with climate change.

The City of Arcata has Climate Reserve Tonnes (CRT's) verified forest carbon offsets available from the Jacoby Creek Forest (CAR 935). These offsets are available to individuals and businesses. They can be used to offset travel, conferences, LEED building projects, gifts, etc. Purchase offsets here and we can retire verified emission reduction credits in the name of the individual, buisness, etc. that the carbon offset was purchased for. Recipients of the carbon offset will receive an email acknowledging the purchase that includes the unique serial number issued by the Climate Reserve.
